Continued: los 'ahijaderos' [pronounced by speakers 'Ijaderos': pasture lands for the sheep/cattle to graze] de los Chavez and other sheep owners, shearing the sheep, lobos in the area and how they used to prey on the sheep and young calves. He never took the job as 'borrega al partido' [being a contractor to take care of someone's herd in exchange of a proportion of the animals and wool]. A second participant, a female talks about how children used to amuse themselves, playing with simple things and cutting wood. Youths were happier with less than the present young people who have more and are less happy. His pastime when he was young was 'partir leña' and jugar con los otros muchachos. Los jóvenes de antes eran muy trabajadores y se divertían con muy poco y cosas simples: carreras de caballos, luchas, juego de pelota [Baseball]. Means of transportation in the past: horses, traveling to distant villages were usually by horse.
