Born in 1901. Genealogy of Gallegos Family and a story about his bother's argument and eventual estrangement. He didn't attend school as he devoted his young age to work in the ranch. He was 'borreguero' [sheep shepherd]. He bacame 'Hermano de la Cofradía de Jesús'. He worked as a shepherd for most of his life. He started his job a sheperd in La Borrega in 1912. More details on his grand parents and parents. The first settlers had died and the younger generations had moved out. In the past the land was open to everybody's cattle for grazing until de end of land grants. End of land grants and the start of Americans migrating to the areas where the Hispanics had their ranches. Ranching and farming in the Hispanic community: everybody helped with the ranch chores, shared their harvest, and had a better quality of life. His views of the ways in his community and how they have changed from past to present.
