Continued: pests and diseases, the largest store burned in the village, so people did not have a place where to get their bacis groceries. Memories of  his life as a  Marine during WWII in Japan. No racial prejudice while in war among the troops 'todos eramos uno, hermanos'. Playing cards with his buddies in the platoon, made good friends who cared for him and helped him during hard times. Story of La Mano Negra, the community adversity to let in Americanos as the people of Canjilon were afraid of cultural alienation. Los Mexicanos [Nuevomexicanos] tienen mucho orgullo en su modo de vivir. Conversation ends about some local people  who used to be business people.
