Abstract
The purpose of this study is to offer constructive criticism of the course of study of Spanish in the high schools of New Mexico. This is, in effect, a critical analysis of policy and methodology concerning the teaching of modern foreign languages in New Mexico, particularly of Spanish, and it is based on information obtained from a questionnaire which was sent to every accredited high school in the state during the academic year 1952-53.
