Aims & Scope

Regeneración: A Xicanacimiento Studies Journal’s is an interdisciplinary, multilingual, and multimedia space centering and promoting the intellectual, cultural, and historic experiences and production of Chicana, Chicano, Chicanx peoples. The journal’s axis encompasses the field of Chicana/o/x Studies and interlocking fields to advance the ancestral and communal knowledge systems of the Americas.

Our goal is to:

  • Support and promote Chicana/o/x Studies scholars and the intellectual field of Chicana/o/x Studies
  • Provide a forum for community practitioners, artists, activist, and writers to exchange and disseminate ideas
  • Promote open access journal issues for wide access and circulation of Chicana/o/x knowledge
  • Support authors, artists, and community rights and intellectual freedoms
  • Provide critical, supportive, and radical editing practices
  • Publish multilingually, primarily in English and Spanish, and with the possibilities of supporting scholarship in the various languages of the Americas
  • Act as a bridge between community voices and Chicana/o/x scholarship
  • Promote intergenerational and hemispheric perspectives
