About This Journal

Philosophy

Regeneración: A Xicanacimiento Studies Journal’s philosophy amplifies the artistic, intellectual, and community productions of Chicana/o/x voices and studies, which seeks to cultivate rebellious intellectualisms on politics, ideas, culture, philosophy, and society. This philosophy draws on the intellectual lineage from the unruly anarcho-syndicalist practices of the Partido Liberal Mexicano to the visions for self-determinant futures of the Chicana and Chicano Movement. Our philosophy is guided by our dedication to advance the knowledge, transformation, and life-affirming practices of Chicana/o/x communities and people in struggle. Our philosophy guides the journal’s commitment to support writers, artists, and thinkers in producing ethical, rigorous, and robust articles, written works, and creative pieces. Our philosophy endorses a praxis of mutual compassion, criticality, reciprocity, and community care.
