Abstract
Monthly Bulletin of the Employment Security Commission of New Mexico (November 1948) provides a comprehensive review of employment trends, unemployment compensation activity, veterans' benefits, employment service operations, and employer coverage in New Mexico during November 1948. The report notes that payments under the GI Bill continued to decrease as veterans exhausted their eligibility and transitioned into covered employment under the state unemployment compensation system. Special attention is given to employment changes in the construction and trade sectors, where seasonal layoffs contributed substantially to unemployment claims. The bulletin also discusses interstate unemployment compensation arrangements that provided benefits to workers returning to New Mexico from other states.
