Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine what types of playgrounds and playground equipment are being used in the elementary schools of New Mexico and to compare and evaluate the size, placement, and serviceability of these facilities according to standards set forth by the National Recreation Association and other authorities.
This study is largely concerned with information and material gathered from the elementary schools in municipal systems within this state, but information from two independent rural schools will be used. Private and parochial schools will not be considered in this study.
