Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is (1) to ascertain the apparent status of secondary education as revealed in the philosophy of the present governing group of Great Britain; (2) to ascertain the nature, type, and extent of changes that occurred or are occurring in the British secondary school system; (3) to seek out the immediate effects of the foregoing changes on the possible long-range effects of such changes on the school system and on the society as a whole.
