View of favela do Pavão. ln the case of Rio, the favelas first appeared in the downtown area, later Ipanema/Copacabana districts, and then in the flatlands in the northern and southern parts of the city. They adapted themselves as best as they could to the terrain.Vista da favela do Pavão. No caso do Rio, as favelas primeiro apareceram na área do centro da cidade, depois nos bairros de Ipanema/Copacabana e posteriormente nas áreas baixas do norte e sul da cidade, adaptando-se da melhor forma possível ao terreno.
