Description
View of the favela Dona Marta and the Botafogo district winding down from the forest below the Cristo Redentor statue. There are nearly 500 favelas in Rio and nearly 1 million residents, out of nearly 6 million urban total. Growth of the favelas is estimated at nearly 5%, double the rate of the city.Vista da favela Dona Marta e do bairro de Botafogo descendo da floresta, abaixo da estátua do Cristo Redentor. Há aproximadamente 500 favelas no Rio com aproximadamente 1 milhão de residentes, entre os 6 milhões de habitantes da cidade. O crescimento das favelas é estimado em aproximadamente 5%, o dobro do da cidade.
