ca. 1990-2000. Family genealogy, married at 19 with Malaquias Rodriguez, attended to school in Chamizal, her time living in El Ojito. There were eight children in her family, two of her siblings went to college. Her parents had a ranch. Transportation was by horse. She remembers instruction was in English at school. Seasonal work out of state- in Colorado- She finished the middle school [8th grade] then she went to work in her parents' ranch, farming beans, fava beans, corn and wheat. Memories of her grandmother Gertrudis Herrera de Dominguez, marriage proposal traditions: los padres del novio y el novio pedían a la novia con una carta, if the groom was rejected, he would be called 'calabaza'. Religious services, games, baseball.
