The García Family, locations where they used to live, pastime activities when she was young: going to the river with other friends. She attended school until 8th grade. They moved from Maxwell to Springer in 1933. Memories of her friends when she was young and an episode of food poisoning of the family. [inaudible segment] Her mother never took the welfare during the Great Depression, she preferred to work harder to make ends meet. The foods they prepared during la Cuaresma [Lent], attending the services during Lent at the chapel in Ojo Feliz, La Morada in Ojo Feliz, los Penitentes; her uncle Vicente was a Penitente. Memories of elder members of her family and family relations. Good relations with Anglo Americans in Maxwell, the Menopace's hotels, los escapularios [scapular necklaces and dresses]. Memories of the accident where her father and two other men were killed by a train, the funeral, and people who attended it. Her father had a ranch in Guadalupita and in Laguna Negra, Angel Fire. She remembers some local families there. She used to work for Dr. Thompson. Her mother learned to speak English by working with Anglo American families [inaudible segment at the end].
