[in video collection] Continued: recalling classmates from the community: Manuel Pacheco, Manuel Montoya, and other neighbors in Maxwell. Talking about her elder sisters and their extended families. She tells the story about her father's dead . It was on Sept. 23, 1928 when a train rolled over and killed her father, Jose Inez Montoya, and Leopoldo Mestas, talks about the funeral, the relatives and neighbors who attended it. Her mother covered all the funeral expenses with some savings and by selling some horses they had in the ranch. She says that there were two fresh water springs in their ranch in Guadalupita and memories of her life with her family after her father's passing. More on her family history: her widow mother worked hard in Maxwell, she was a janitor in the school. They move to Springer, the different places where they lived, their neighbors: Los Peña, Los Mares, Los Websters and others. She met her husband in Maxwell where they used to go roller skating. Memories of her wedding, close relatives, neighbors, extended family, and the 'bailes' in Springer.
