Abstract
In this presentation, information literacy librarians update their 2024 session on the use of scholarly articles in undergraduate classrooms to address the generative AI landscape prevalent in higher education. Scholarly articles have been viewed as the gold standard for use in undergraduate research assignments, but differences in their intended and real use present challenges we need to address. In this workshop, we look at the information landscape with an eye toward early undergraduates' experiences and challenge the assumption that scholarly articles are the pinnacle of evidence in research assignments. This session is ideal for librarians and educators interested in rethinking research assignments and promoting a broader view of credible sources.
