Abstract
It is the purpose of this study to investigate the trends of the Spanish customs and practices in the community of Chimayo. Included are elements known as: birth, marriage, fiestas, and death. In view of the fact that Chimayo is typically rural Spanish, the study is limited to this region only. In this study no attempt is made to analyze the culture into the details of its historical components. This work tends only to offer a study of customs and rituals used in this community.
