Abstract
My purpose in this paper is twofold. In the first place, I wish to clarify somewhat the meaning and scope of the term "neogongorismo" and to show in what respects it resembles and in what respects it differs from gongorism. Secondly, I desire to show the attitude manifested towards Gongora by the contemporary Spanish-American literatos. I shall substantiate my deductions wherever possible with actual critical and poetic references.
