Abstract
Monthly Bulletin of the Employment Security Commission of New Mexico (August 1948) presents statistical and analytical information on employment conditions, unemployment compensation, veterans' benefits, and employer coverage in New Mexico during August 1948. The bulletin features a special study comparing covered employment and wages in 1940 and 1948, demonstrating substantial growth in both employment and earnings during the wartime and postwar years. The bulletin also provides detailed data on unemployment compensation and veterans' allowance payments, county-level benefit distributions, local employment office activities, claims processing, and employer coverage by county and industry. As a historical labor market publication, the report documents New Mexico's economic transformation during the immediate postwar period and offers valuable evidence of employment, wage, and industrial development trends across the state.
