Abstract

This document presents Jamaica s National Policy for the Trading of Carbon Credits which is designed to achieve: A competitive, diversified, efficient and investment-conducive carbon credits trading sector that fosters socio-economic development and induces a less carbon-intensive economy. This policy is an important part of Jamaica s climate change strategy that facilitates reductions in the country s greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint, thereby reducing the country s contribution to this global problem.
