Description
This workshop introduces healthcare providers, students, and residents to advanced clinical literature search techniques. It offers a step-by-step pathway for navigating evidence-based resources (PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, ClinicalKey, UpToDate, PsycINFO, ECRI Guidelines Trust, MedlinePlus, LexiComp), and emphasizes strategies for building effective search strategies. Participants will practice constructing keyword-based and subject-heading-based searches, employing Boolean operators, truncation, wildcards, exact phrase searching, and proximity operators. The session highlights saving strategies, setting search alerts, and integrating search practices into clinical workflows. The presentation also reviews tools for full-text access, including LibKey Nomad, interlibrary loan, and proxy authentication. This hands-on session empowers participants to improve literature retrieval efficiency for clinical decision-making, research, and scholarship.
