Abstract
The LGBT community experiences unique health needs that many healthcare providers do not possess adequate training to address. This critical barrier to promoting the health of the LGBT population contributes to health disparities and discrimination, especially the transgender population who experience high rates of discrimination and difficulty accessing gender affirming care. This session will address strategies for creating and implementing curricula that addresses LGBT specific health needs.
