Abstract
Not all faculty members are up to date on the most effective teaching techniques and despite the resources available at UNM, faculty often don’t have the time or energy to devote to educating themselves on the topic. As part of the program director team, we saw an opportunity to educate our faculty in an efficient and fun forum and initiated the “Ten Minute Teach” every month at our faculty meetings. Each month, a new and easily applicable teaching topic is taught to the entire Anesthesiology faculty via the faculty meeting, allowing more expert educators to pass on their knowledge to the entire faculty at once. Our hope is for the faculty to then apply what they learn to their teaching sessions, increasing the quality of the resident education and experience, and leading to improved learning and exam performance.
