Abstract

Engaging learners can be challenging. Working memory is not very efficient and finding novel, unique, and distinctive ways of appealing to mental health work is important for nursing practice. Improving care in an enjoyable and effective manner is greatly needed. Theraoke serves as a useful tool to engage learners and patients through music and spoken word. Using the instrumental versions of popular songs to create new “lyrics” helps present knowledge in a useful and emotional way for interactive engagement and learning. Using this technique to engage learners has many positive outcomes including engaging the brain in areas involved with attention, problems solving and memory consolidation.
