Abstract
This work presents the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) on the development of anxiety-like behaviors in adult mice following mild stressors. Models of mild stress in adolescence and adulthood were utilized to unmask aberrant neuroimmune actions and subsequent development of anxiety-like behaviors in adult PAE offspring. The results indicate that PAE induces maladaptive stress responses mediated by neuroinflammatory processes in different brain regions.
