Abstract
This report features a historical study of British-financed cattle ranching operations in the Texas Panhandle and eastern New Mexico during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, exploring investment patterns, ranch management, and economic outcomes. It also assesses New Mexico's business conditions in spring 1961, highlighting employment stagnation, persistent unemployment, banking growth, and mixed trends in construction and resource production.
