Abstract
This report traces the historical development and rapid postwar expansion of the life insurance industry in New Mexico and the United States, examining policy types, benefits, investments, health insurance, and mortgage holdings. It also reviews New Mexico's economic conditions in early 1960, noting slower business activity, higher unemployment, reduced construction, and continued growth in selected sectors such as mining and insurance.
