Abstract
This report provides a preliminary assessment of New Mexico's economy in 1959, concluding that it was another record-setting year marked by rising employment, income, mineral production, trade, and banking activity. The report also notes emerging weaknesses in construction, electric power production, and some business indicators during the second half of the year.
