Abstract

It is the thesis of this study that Virginia Woolf' s experiments as a novelist involve to a significant degree an attempt to apply to the art of fiction the aesthetic theories of Post-Impressionism, especially as they were articulated by Roger Fry (1866-1934) in the early years of the twentieth century.
