Abstract
The central purpose of this study was to determine criteria for the establishment of associate degree programs in four-year institutions and to gather information that would serve as guidelines to administrators in the implementation of such programs. Information was obtained through a review of the literature, a catalog or bulletin analysis, and a questionnaire sent to directors of associate degree programs in four-year institutions that were members of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges.
