Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present a summary and analysis of the chief categories of adverse criticism of the public schools which appeared during the last ten years in various publications in the United States; (2) and to discover whether parent opinions of pupils in a selected junior high school tend to confirm or deny the chief categories of adverse criticism concerning specific trends, practices and methods of education.
