Abstract

Nicaragua is a country in the process of development. The Nicaraguan leaders are very conscious of the fact that the advancement of the nation depends largely upon the development of human resources. The key role in the development of human resource in is played by education. With the assistance of the U.S. Government, through the Agency for International Development (A.I.D.), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Nicaragua initiated plans for general reforms and reorganization of the existing educational system. Unfortunately, the outcomes have been very limited, if we consider the magnitude of the educational problems.
