Abstract
It was the purpose of this study to accurately trace Roy Johnson's career in order to distinguish fact from fiction pertaining to stories and happenings attached to his name and his career; to further determine how various individuals regarded and affected him; and finally, to provide the archives of the University of New Mexico, and interested scholars, with a permanent historical record of the life of an individual who most undoubtedly has been substantially instrumental in the evolution of the University's Physical Education and Varsity Athletic programs.
