Annual Survey of Allegations and Costs

The Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) is a research institution affiliated with Georgetown University, founded in 1964 with the goal of providing scientific data to support the Catholic Church. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) commissioned CARA in 2004 to conduct a survey of member diocese on allegations of child sexual abuse by priests and deacons, and costs associated with those cases. Members of the USCCB participate in the survey as a part of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, also known as the Dallas Charter. The Survey of Allegations and Costs has been conducted annually from 2004 to 2023.

This collection contains the Archdiocese of Santa Fe’s annual reports for 2004-2013, excluding 2006. While most surveys cover each year from January 1st to December 31, the final report covers the audit year of July 1st 2013-June 30th 2014.
