The Ruben Cobos Collection of Southwestern Folklore and Folk Music (MSS 892) contains some of the earliest recorded New Mexico Spanish language recordings. Most the topics in the recordings focus on folktales and songs, but some contain dialogue and conversation. Because of the extensiveness of this collection, the digital files have not, at this point, been uploaded to the repository.

The collection is included in this project because of the interviews involved and the regional New Mexico Spanish language used. Interviews available on CDs for listening at the UNM Center for Southwest Research.

For collection background and interview listing see New Mexico Archives Online Ruben Cobos Collection of Southwestern Folklore and Folk Music  finding guide.
