Abstract
The radiochemical exchange reaction may in general be written AX+BX• = +BX where X• represents a radioactive atom of X. The species AX and AX• are assumed to be chemically identical as are the species BX and BX•. This assumption introduces no appreciable error even when working with atoms having an atomic weight as low as fourteen.
