Description

Abandoned engenho near Santo Amaro in the Rec6ncavo region. The international price of sugar oscillated and gradually declined after the middle of the Eighteenth century. Furthermore, as a result of the gold rush in Minas Gerais, the capital of the colony was transferred from Salvador to Rio de Janeiro in 1763. Brazil's economic center shifted to the south, accelerating the decline of the Northeast. IMPRESSIONS Cidade Alta and Baixa (Part I)Engenho abandonado perto de Santo Amaro na região do Recóncavo. O preço internacional do açúcar oscilou a abaixou gradativamente na segunda metade do século XVIII. Fora isso, como resultado da "corrida ao ouro" em Minas Gerais, a capital da Colónia foi transferida em 1763 de Salvador para o Rio de Janeiro. O centro económico do Brasil deslocou-se para o sul, acelerando o declínio do Nordeste.
