View of the Reconcavo towns of Cachoeira and Sdo Fdlix on the Paraguaçú river. The Reconcavo region around Salvador proved ideal for sugarcane plantations since it had an abundance of fertile massaV8 soil, favorable topology, and several navigable estuaries which facilitated links to port facilities.Vista das cidades de Cachoeira e São Félix, na região do Recóncavo, ao longo do rio Paraguaçú. A região do Recóncavo ao redor de Salvador provou ser ideal para a plantação de cana-de-açúcar, pois tinha em abundância o solo fértil de Massapê, topografia favorável, e vários estuários navegáveis que facilitaram a ligação com os portos.
