Niterói has over 500,000 people many of which commute daily to work in Rio. One can now also reach more rapidly such northern beach resort towns as Cabo Frio and Búzios.30) Area do porto, ponte Rio-Niterói e Ilha do Governador ao fundo. A ponte atravessa a Baía da Guanabara e substituiu o intenso tráfego das barcas existente anteriormente. Niterói tem mais de 500.000 habitantes, muitos dos quais vêm diariamente ao Rio para trabalhar. A ponte também facilita o acesso às praias do litoral norte, tais como Cabo Frio e Búzios.
