29) Downtown Rio and a view of the Rio-Niterói bridge. The center of Rio de Janeiro remains the business district of the city and many important public institutions such as the National Library are located there. The Rio-Niterói (President Costa e Silva) Bridge is 15.5 kms long and was completed in 1974. It is considered one of most important engineering projects in recent years.29) Centro do Rio de Janeiro e vista da ponte Rio-Niterói. O centro do Rio de Janeiro continua como o bairro comercial e financeiro da cidade, e muitas instituições públicas importantes, tais como a Biblioteca Nacional, localizam-se lá. A ponte Rio-Niterói (Presidente Costa e Silva) tem 15,5 km de extensão e foi concluída em 1974. É considerada um dos projetos de engenharia mais importantes desta época.
