24) Catete Palace in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The palace was the former residence of the Baron of Novo Friburgo and was purchased by the Republican government that came to power in 1889 a few years later. It remained the presdential residence until 1954.24) Palácio do Catete no centro do Rio de Janeiro. O palácio era a antiga residência do Barão de Nova Friburgo e foi adquirido pelo governo republicano, que chegou ao poder em 1889, alguns anos depois. Permaneceu como residência presidencial até 1954.
