Description
Irrigation canal and watering fields near Petrolina (PE). It was not until the 1950s that the Brazilian governrnent became more concerned with regional development, providing industrialization and agricultural incentives through SUDENE (Northeast Development Superintendency). Several pilot projects exist, though most of the funds were used for industrial projects.Canal de irrigação e campos regados próximos de Petrolina (PE). Foi só em 1950 que o governo brasileiro se tornou mais preocupado com o desenvolvimento regional, provendo incentivos para a indústria e agricultura através da SUDENE (Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste). Existem vários projetos piloto, mas a maior parte dos fundos foi usada para projetos industriais.
