Description
Three prostitutes try their luck at the Praça da Sé in downtown São Paulo. Despite the opportunities in the cities, the numbers of underemployed, beggars and abandoned children is alarming. The dreams of many sertanejos have ended in poverty. N evertheless, this cheap and abundant labor from the sertão and other hinterland regions has been responsible for fueling Brazil' s economic development and urban construction boom.Três prostitutas tentam a sorte na Praça da Sé no centro de São Paulo. Apesar das oportunidades existentes nas cidades, o número de desempregados, mendigos e crianças abandonadas é muitas vezes alarmante. Os sonhos de muitos sertanejos têm acabado em pobreza. Contudo, essa barata e abundante força de trabalho do sertão e do interior de outras regiões tem sido responsável por alimentar o desenvolvimento económico do Brasil e o rápido progresso da construção urbana.
