A favela below an avenue leading to upper class apartments in Salvador (Bahia). Because of explosive growth, largely from rural migration, city officials throughout Brazil have been unable to provide such basic facilities as water, electricity, sewage, and most especially, housing. Access to health care and education are other services needing attention.Uma favela abaixo de uma avenida que leva a apartamentos da classe alta (Bahia) . Por causa da explosão de crescimento populacional, advinda largamente da imigração rural, o governo das cidades em todo o Brasil tem sido incapaz de prover servoços básicos como água, eletricidade, esgoto, e principalmente moradia. Acesso a cuidados médicos e educação são outros serviços de atenção.
