Description
Cargo trucks parked at a rest station along the highway from Florianópolis (Santa catarina) to Curitiba (Paraná). Most goods in Brazil are still transported by truck, and there exists an extensive if poorly maintained highway network. A major challenge of the government is to offer alternative modes of transportation such as railroads (which have been neglected), to modernize the coastal ports and provide options so that products from more isolated regions can reach the centers of consumption or be exported.
