Abstract

To elucidate the changes in the trophic and microhabitat portions of the niche under various degrees of competitive pressure, four species of Eleutherodactylus were studied on five Caribbean islands. Approximately 100 specimens of each species occurring on each island were collected. Five measurements were used to characterize the microhabitat at the collection site. Five morphological measurements were taken from each specimen. All stomach contents were measured, counted, and categorized. Feeding rates were obtained from stomach contents and direct observation.
