Abstract

The report presents historical demographic and economic data for all New Mexico counties from 1970 through 1980 and develops projections of population, employment, and real per capita income through 2000. Using cohort-component demographic methods and county-level economic forecasting models, the report examines fertility, mortality, migration, labor force trends, employment growth, and income patterns to support long-range planning by state agencies, utilities, and local governments.
