83 years old from Atrisco. Family genealogy. He moved to Atrisco permanently when he became an orphan and his grandmother took him to Ranchos de Atrisco. Memories of his time in school and his classmates: a lot of Armijos. School time schedule, the games he played in school, the school was small. Almost all the people in Atrisco relied on farming and working as sheep shepherds. The Hubble family as a powerful and rich family in Atrisco. The church of San José was located in Ranchos de Atrisco. Funeral practices: the coffin was a rustic wooden box lined with white linen inside and black linen on the external part. El Camposanto de Atrisco, El Arenal, El Wache, and other landmarks in Atrsico. The reason why the area where this interview is taking place is called Armijo may be because the first 'estafeta' [Post office] started at José Armijo's store.  The postal service in the past in Atrisco. Local families of Atrisco a that time: Los Sancez and Los Gabaldón. The local stores used to give credit to people for groceries and other basics. Medical care in the area in 1912: Dr. Easter, Dr. Clayton, Dr. Weiler, and the Lovelace in the Plaza. Las curanderas y las hierbas para curar los males. La limpieza de las acequias [cleaning the ditches] and the mayordomos de acequias. Politics and changes in political trends: very republican before the Great Depression but people favored more the Democrats when Roosevelt was in office. The Armijo Yankees [a local baseball team in Atrisco]. The general stores in Atrisco: la tienda de Pedro Sanchez y la tienda de Urbano Page. Local politicians, Rafael García, Andrés Romero, Felipe Zamora, Felipe Hubblel, and other local men. Life style in Atrisco: simple life, no toys to play, so children used simple things like boxes to play, no gas stoves but people used to fix their meals in fogones [rustic clay stoves], la iglesia y los penitentes en Atrisco.
