Born and raised in Atrisco, family genealogy. Her parents were heirs of la Merced de Atrisco. Her childhood, life in Atrisco relied on farming. Everybody had a ranch. The first families in Atrisco and ways she was raised. The discipline in her house and the religious faith instilled since early age. Her parents were very strict. La Iglesia de la Sagrada Familia. Había misa solo una vez al mes. Memories of the house where she grew up. La Iglesia de Santa Ana, La Iglesia de San José en Armijo. Rancher's life and how her father and grandfather used to work in cleaning the diches [limpieza de las acequias]. Las matanzas [slaughtering of a sheep]. Her father was 'borreguero' [sheep shepherd] who worked for Felipe Hubble. Memories of neighbors in Atrisco, las parteras, her mother was assisted by a partera to have all her children. Maria Jaramillo was a well known partera [midwife] in Atrisco. El respeto de antes, lot of respect to elders in the past, but at present there's no respect to anybody. Her views on the changes in the area and changes in society; high criminality, more dependence on the government aid, and outsiders coming into the area. Memories of the alabados that her grandmother used to sing. Her opinion on the loss of Spanish language in the families. She thinks parents are responsible for the Spanish language loss. She does not like the changes in traffic: there are many cars on the streets and there's more noise. Los bailes and how she used to go to them.
