Abstract

In the past two years my work has gone through many changes. It has evolved from the naive belief that a piece of art could be meaningful to all people regardless of their background, to a personal understanding that art can not be that far reaching or controlled. I am now content to paint personal symbols that convey what is important to me. It is still my belief that understanding is available to all but not from pat formulas. This thesis describes the visual changes and the thoughts behind them.
