[In video collection- more complete version] Born in Rodarte in 1925. Family genealogy. She was raised by her grandparents in Cañada del Ratón. Her husband was Benjamin Mondragón and he passed away in 1991. The Mondragones originally were from La Cuesta near Holman in Mora. The families that used to live in la Cuesta. People started to leave La Cuesta in the 1950s. Genealogy of the Mondragón family. The roads in the area when she was young. She used to work in the ranch since she was a teenager. Her grandfather used to have a large herd of sheep and cattle. He used to grow potatoes, barley, oats, and red seeds. She attended school in el Vadito. Cañada de Ratón used to belong to Taos County, but later it belonged to Mora County. She remembers that they never struggled with lack of food as her grandfather used to have a lot of livestock and they used to slaughter hogs, sheep, and cattle for the house consumption. The harvest was always gathered with sickles not with any machinery or a combine. Talking about her children and their families. Winters were harsh and they used to travel by horse and buggy.
